A summer exhibition featuring over 25 local artists. Each artist will be displaying four paintings interpreting one word of their choice!

My selection: 4 the Love of . . . Impressionism.
I have always admired the Impressionists and how these artists (Monet, Renoir, Degas, Pissaro, Cassatt and Morisot) captured the fleeting essence of light, the use of more open and colorful shadows, warm and cool colors and scumbling (dragging one color over another) in their paintings. This style of art elevated everyday moments in a loose painterly way. This was a different way of painting for me and it was fun to try something new!
